Healing Hurts

Happy Day Reader!

I hope this email finds you well. As I reflect on the events of 2023, I find myself compelled to share some thoughts and emotions that have been occupying my mind. Today, I've taken the time to sit with my feelings and contemplate the impact of the negative events that unfolded in 2023. It has been an emotional day filled with unexpected and uninvited tears that began in the grocery store. I was standing in a mess of my tears and had to take intentional steps to get it together long enough to stop wandering aimlessly around the store. I missed the first hour of online service because I was caught up in my emotions and a barrage of text messages. Respectful text messages, but enough for me to share the rawness of my thoughts.

Can I be even more transparent? Now, there were a few respectful, but don't play with me messages that I sent in Messenger. I deleted the messages once, but with the rawness of what I was feeling, I sent them again. Only to finally connect with the church service on YouTube and Pastor Henderson was preaching about pettiness as soon as I logged on. UGH! All up in my space.

Yep, you guessed it. I had to go delete the messages again. Were the messages truthful? From my viewpoint yes. Were they necessary? From my viewpoint, yep. I am not going to sit here and lie and pretend that when the person came at me I didn't want to get back at them. But in awareness, it would've been petty because I was already in a ball of negative emotions.

Healing Hurts

We have to deal with emotions that are raw and sensitive which can lead us down a rabbit hole of negativity. I have cried tears of pain and hurt today trying to deal with what I am feeling inside. Trying to pull it together so that I can function. But isn't that always an escape route for not dealing with what we are feeling?

The more I tried to pull it together, the worse the tears fell. I kept crying out to God and will keep doing so until the wounds of my past are deep-cleaned and healed.

In times of adversity, it's often challenging to confront and process our emotions. However, I firmly believe that healing begins when we allow ourselves the space to feel. This act of introspection and acknowledgment is crucial for our emotional well-being. While it may be tempting to push aside or ignore the weight of difficult experiences, I have come to realize that embracing our emotions is a powerful step toward healing. By acknowledging the pain, frustration, or sadness, we open the door to understanding and, ultimately, to finding solace.

The journey of healing is unique for each individual, and I encourage you to take the time you need to navigate through your emotions. Whether it involves self-reflection, seeking support from loved ones, or engaging in activities that bring comfort, remember that there is strength in vulnerability.

In sharing this with you, my intention is to foster an open dialogue about the importance of emotional well-being and the role it plays in our overall health. It's okay to not be okay, and it's equally important to recognize when we need to pause, reflect, and allow ourselves the grace to heal.

If you ever feel the need to talk or share your own experiences, please know that I am here to listen. Together, we can navigate the journey of healing and emerge stronger on the other side. Wishing you peace, resilience, and the courage to embrace your emotions.
